Artist In Residence, National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson Hole, WY
Visiting with Doris during her Artist in Residence during the week of July 7 – 11 from 11:00 to 3:00pm, will feel more like a sewing circle, even through you won’t see any needles and threads. Doris is an accomplished tapestry artist who will be weaving and spinning fibers into a piece inspired by the Absoroka Mountains of Wyoming.
Doris invites visitors to the museum to watch her weave. Better yet, whether you are an experienced weaver or not, to pick up a shuttle and Doris will show you how to weave a few rows of the touring Mother Tree Project. It is a 16′ growing fiber sculpture of a pine tree, with a conservation message about the need to preserve our environment.
Doris hopes you will join the “sewing circle” to share your skills, thoughts and ideas. wildlifeart.org
